Our dogs are so much more than our teammates, they are our family. We live with them and love and care for them every single day!
Hi there! We’re Liz and Matthew Failor, a husband and wife team with a dream to share Alaska’s official sport with the world! Mushing brought us together when Liz, a former news anchor, was assigned to cover Iditarod, Alaska's famous, thousand-mile race in 2018. Matthew was racing that year and it was love at first sight. Check out our story in the New York Times!
We married at our home in Willow, surrounded by our dogs in July of 2020. When, two weeks later, Liz's news station closed completely, we decided to try starting our own tour operation. Sharing the dogs with visitors has been a passion of Matthew's for years, and Liz's unexpected layoff turned out to be the biggest blessing in disguise!
Together, we launched Alaskan Husky Adventures and we feel lucky every day to be able to dedicate ourselves completely to our dogs. We love them so much and are excited to share the joy they bring to our lives with you!
With the help of our dog team, we aspire to inform visitors from around the world about Alaska's official sport and to foster a love of the Alaskan Husky breed through open house-style tours and sled rides. We invite our guests to ask us anything and we take pride in showcasing our state-of-the-art trails and facilities.
Through our year-round tours, we offer hands-on insight into the mushing lifestyle and what makes a champion team. Our dogs are part of our family and they love to meet our guests too! We invite you to our home to play with the dogs, witness their passion for running and experience the thrill of dog sledding for yourself. Your Alaskan Husky Adventure awaits!
